When you hear people with different accents, is it hard to not try to copy it later?

I grew up and live on the west coast USA which I feel like has no accent for the most part. When I meet people from different countries or even different states I kinda have to fight the urge to try and speak like them the next day. I'm never gonna try to talk to them in their accent or anything, I just like to try privately or with friends to see if I can copy the it. Anybody else do the same?
