From my dad: Aloofness, Calm, Greed (I overcame it a lot), Indifferent, Work ethic, Practical, Immaturity, Provider.

From my mom: Confidence, Ego, Generous, Helpful, Clever, Polite, Cheerful, Noisy, Outspoken, Determined, Clean, Shallow, Reckless, Resistant, Courage, Optimistic.

I don't have the best relationship with my parents.

Maybe from Mom: I really can't think of anything. I spent minutes thinking about it and I couldn't think of anything.

From Dad: Famine survival, fighting, gambling (smartly), alcoholism (maybe not the best part).

My father taught me the most not so much directly but indirectly. For example, we were walking along the beach and all happy and our dog started barking and some asshole with his own family kicked our dog. Then he was whimpering with blood coming out of his nose and his wife was scolding but my father just unleashed on him. He beat the shit out of him until he was crying and pleading for mercy and his wife was sobbing and my mother was pulling my father away. My father was sometimes a stupid man but he was a man. He has always been man.

He's becoming my hero as I get older. He was a crude guy but he never kissed ass. So he lost jobs and bounced between them. He got into the fights like those above but never starting it, usually trying to protect other people or even pets. He's a bit rough around the edges. You take him to a TGIF and he's telling the women there that they got nice tits. He says some facepalm type of stuff. But he's great man! I wouldn't mind if I become more like him. I seem to be getting like that as I get older.
