Do you have any international friends?

Meaning friends outside your country. Like are there any Americans that have friends outside the United States? As for me, I’m an American by the way, but as long a person treats me like a human being, I’ll accept his/her friendship whether they reside in the United States or not.

Oh yeah, most of the people in my life have international roots or are international themselves.

But I'm also Canadian, so multiculturalism here is a celebration, not a punishment like the US makes it out to be. Here, cultures from around the world are openly celebrated and shared, especially nowadays. There's a disdain for "assimilation" among our ethnic communities - it's good to adapt, but part of what makes Canada Canada is being able to bring parts of your culture here with you and have it respected.

I have friends from Israel, Colombia, the Philippines, Scotland, Brazil, Germany, India, the US, and more. And most of my friends who are 1st gen Canadian (or long term Canadian families) have roots outside the country.

Personally, I can't imagine only having friends from Canada (as in white, born and bred Canadians). I'm 1st gen Canadian myself and there's more kinship with people whose families are immigrants or who are themselves immigrants. Plus, I get to eat amazing food from all over the world.

If someone doesn't have a worldly view, I honestly can't be friends with them. I think it's a reason I don't have many straight cis white male friends (aka default vanilla North American) - they're too... Stunted. They don't have enough life experience, context, or empathy to make a friendship worthwhile.

I consider some "online friends," but not real friends.
There are some people that I have gamed with off and on since back in the original Xbox days starting with COD 2 and Brothers in Arms that I am still friends with online.
Most of them are from UK, but a few were from other countries. I tend to get along well quite easily with people from the UK.
