Do you greet your loved ones when you come home or leave home?

What do you usually do? kiss? hug? just say 'see ya!'

Of course I do. I can’t imagine anyone NOT greeting an loved one when that person gets home, nor saying goodbye when they leave. Yet the poll suggests that quite a few people do not greet their loved ones, or say goodbye! It’s not like you asked “do you hug and/or kiss your loved ones every time you get home, or when you are about to leave. You wrote “greet” which could mean anything from saying “Hello!” to “Hi, I’m home”, all the way, yes, to a hug and a kiss! These are not annoying roommates, they are loved ones, people you allegedly love…. How could you just get up and leave their house without at LEAST telling your loved one that you are leaving? Similarly how could you just show-up at their house and not even announce that you are even there? It just seems rude. But hey that’s just the opinion of one young woman, so what does it matter, just do whatever makes you happy.

I don't usually do that when I'm at home. When I'm seeing relatives for the first time in a while (like if it's been at least a week since I've seen them) then I usually greet them (say hi) and hug them. I used to kiss one or two of my aunts and even my grandfather (my mom's father) before covid. I think I still kiss one of my cousins on the cheek or she does that to me. I kissed one of my second cousins once or a few times on the cheek too. I do want to give some of my other cousins cheek kisses but now I'm hesitant because of covid. I don't usually kiss them anyway.

There are various behaviour I put on, depending on the person I meet.
- parents: I greet them by kissing on cheek 3 times alternating the cheeks (it’s common use here to do so), I say bye and hug them;
- relatives (other members of family like aunts, cousins): with male ones, I say bye, do a hand shake and kiss on cheek 3 times, with females ones I say bye and kiss on cheeks 3 times;
- friends (guys and girls): I greet them by saying bye, usually we have a form of greeting by giving an high five;
- acquaintances of my age: I greet them by saying bye, greet with another form of high five in common use here;
- acquaintances older than me and strangers in general: I say bye and usually handshake, if they’re particularly old I kiss on cheeks 3 times if they request it.

I would like to believe that there is a possibility of any day we are living being our last day. Hence I try to be as compassionate as possible when leaving home.

But the occassional anger and other situational things make it difficult sometimes.

Uhmm greeting is always: I walk in and say really loud just "muttii" (mother) and the name of my sis, search them and hug my mom and cuddle the shit out of my sis and annoy her.
Leaving is also hugging my mom and a kiss on the cheeks and cuddling my sis again and bevor I go out the door I loudly say "Ok byee"

I greet them when I'm leaving and sometimes when I come back. I just say "see ya" or "I'm leaving". And when I'm back I say "good afternoon" or "good evening".

If I'm mad at him, I just leave... if I'm not, I'll say I'm leaving and give him a hug and kiss goodbye.

Of course the dog, I always say goodbye to and give a hug and she is waiting for me at the gate when I return.

I always do it, my parents did it so I just did like them also it would be kinda weird to leave without saying anything or comeback without saying anything either, it's quite rude.

Most of the time yes. We always give each other a quick kiss goodbye/hello and a “have a nice day/how was work”  and I always give my daughter a kids and a hug

If it’s family or friends then I just say hello or goodbye. If it’s my partner then usually a hug and kiss, an I love you, hello or goodbye.
