Is it weird to be nude around you family?

I recently went on a camping trip with my family and my boyfriend. We roughed it for a few nights and we went swimming in the lake and there were times that we needed to get in the nude near my family. They could see me at some times but we always have done that and it's never been weird to us but my boyfriend was so awkward about it and said he would never do that with his family at all?

Is my family normal or his?

It depends on the family dynamic. I'll use my own as the example. I grew up with both parents and a younger brother (I'm 8 years older). My parents never made a big deal about nudity, so effectively we were a bit of a nudist household. I was never made to feel uncomfortable.

So now that I have my own place, I am often nude at home. It's my norm and it's how I feel comfortable.

To some looking in, yeah it's a bit weird as other families place different boundaries in order to live and grow as they deem fit and healthy.

My mom and I frequently go to the nude beach in NJ during the summer. On ocassion my boyfriend comes along. As far as I've observed I've never seen them act awkward. I was worried at first as my boyfriend hadn't been brought up that way, so he was a bit nervous at first. He was effectively converted 😆

It is if you live in a nudist colony. When you are with your family, unless you are all girls, have the decency to cover up.

Yes, I think it is very weird to be walking around need with your Family present. We need our identity and privacy. I would not even want to see you walking around nude if you are a Family member. If it was my girlfriend or the like then I would expect her to walk around the house comfortably nude. BUT, not around visiting family members...

I grew up nudist and most of my friends did not have a problem with it because we all grew up together.
