Any advice for my dad who is 69 ?

I can’t stand him well no one of my family can that’s why my mom divorced him sometimes I wish I didn’t have contact with him. He is always grumpy and an asshole

Sorry to hear this but he sounds like must be an extremely bitter person. Either that or could be he'd gone through a lot of issues or trauma in his life. Otherwise why is he always putting up such an attitude? Honestly no sane person would do such things on such a regular basis.

Being grumpy all the time is not good at all. It is not good for the body, not good for the mind nor for the soul. May I ask what did he do for a living? Has he ever been happy in life? If so, do you know of (if anything) things or people that (have) made him happy in life?

I would also highly suggest that you get him a copy of 'Own Your Past Change Your Future' by Dr John Deloney which may help with his situation.

Every person's life path and circumstances are different, and depending on their own experiences (or have they felt were treated), will tend to see life differently. Unfortunately people who are angry or resentful often will often have physical, mental and emotional baggage that they haven't processed fully that will need to take time to acknowledge, clear and heal. It's possible your dad is someone like this, and this book I believe could help him.

Your dad will eventually die like my father. He was an alcoholic and always verbally abusive. Now that he’s gone I miss him. He died a terrible death with cancer. You can ignore him or give him some of his own medicine. He will eventually get really old and need help with basic things. Whatever you do, keep in mind he isn’t on earth forever.

Do not let his mood affect your emotionality in front of him. the reaction or Attention, whether negative (you cry) or positive (compliment) is all he seeks. See him for the 7-11 year old that he has develpmentally been the whole of his life

Tell him to take ashwagandha and smoke weed some weed to get rid of that stress. Maybe he won’t be mean if he’s not freaking out about everything.
