Do you appreciate a friend who makes you laugh?

Sueshe made a good point. I like good “actually funny” light hearted jokes. But most jokes these days are mean and often regard someone race, weight, political views, etc. I think i prefer goofy/corny people who are unintentionally funny rather than an intentional cringe joke thats not actually funny at all. And i dont seek friends who make me laugh. I like for whoever I’m interested in building a relationship with to make me laugh.

Unfortunately, nowadays, jokes often have a racist connotation, are at the detriment of some people with mental or physical challenges, are of bad taste, have double meanings, are sexists, contain cursing and swear words.

I have a hard time to remember when such jokes came across clean and did not contain a hint of anything I mention above. Mainly youth in my age group, people have the urge and need to tell such kind of jokes. There is no more decency in jokes.

Other than that, of course it is nice to have a true friend that is capable of making you smile because of his/her sense of humor. Where are those people that have this ability but don't curse or swear?
