My grandmother never spoke English (Cuban, Hispanic). But sometimes me and my brother would talk in English about her and she would often surprise us by saying "I heard that..." (in Spanish, of course) and then repeat what she thought we said... and usually get it right.

Bless her soul, RIP.

My late paternal grandmother did. My maternal grandparents are still living and neither one speaks English.
