I think I hate it. If I feel a baby is miserable in public, I almost want to go up there and hold the baby and calm him/her down and play games even if the parents are trying to do it. I don't do it but I get strong temptation like on airplanes, and it's not because the sound is annoying me. It is like I think I can do this better. How complicated is this?

Only problem If you did help the babies is that most have stranger danger like my 12month old cries at anyone that looks at him too long 😂

@Apple1996 I should remember that! I still don't wanna interfere. But I've been watching these YT videos about how to calm down crying babies with a variety of techniques. One weird one that I've only had mixed success with is that we start gurgling a liquid we drink. A practical one I've found that works way better is I start beatboxing and dance in front of the baby. Then baby is like, "Wah! Wooooh!" and maybe I can even get a giggle. My theory is like move fast and do lots of stunts but don't scare the baby. If they are starting to get scared, come close and play with them and then do more stunts.

@Apple1996 A strategy I've found that works well is that I think about the most extravagant things in front of the crying baby. John Rambo: TUTUTUTUTUTUTU! Kablow! Kablooey! TUTUTUTUTUTUTUTU! Ching-chang-ching-ching-ching-chang! [hitting a tank] Then the tank comes and it's like, "KABLOW! KABLOW!" Then you have to roll and dodge and shoot back! TUTUTUTUTU! Chaching-chaching-chang! Grenade!

Or if that's too intense for the baby, maybe some martial arts stuff! Jean-Claude Van Damme! Dim Mak! "Bottom one!" Parraaayaarrrgh!

I sometimes wonder if the only reason I stopped the baby from crying is that I'm making a scene that requires too much of their attention.
