What should I do for my birthday?

Hi everyone! I’m a bit stuck on what to do for my 22nd birthday. This will be my first birthday without my family (I live abroad) so I want to do something memorable and fun. My birthday is on a Wednesday so it is a bit hard to plan around university schedules. I was thinking between two different ideas, either a midday picnic at a park with champagne, snacks, and good company, then for dinner go to a restaurant and dessert. Or I could take myself and possibly one other person to a spa, which is a little expensive, then for dinner go to a restaurant then dessert with friends. I am trying to do something not pricey because I will be spending a lot of money in the summer with travels, so if you have any more suggestions please let me know! I am not near a beach, I am in a big city in Italy. Thanks guys!

I like the idea of the picnic in a park with friends or classmates. That would be simple, inexpensive and a lot of fun. At least it would be for me. You could also look around your area and see if there is some sort of wine tasting menu at a restaurant. I have done that before.

You get to sample great food that pairs with a selection of different wines. Being Italy, I would think this is something you could find. I have done that one time (not in Italy) with a group of friends and it was incredibly fun.

One thing to consider is doing something on the weekend and not the actual birthday. You will enjoy it much more without the stress of knowing you still have class or schoolwork to do. I do this all the time when my birthday falls on a weekday.

You can always make or get your favourite dinner on your actual birthday and then plan something for Friday night or Saturday. If you are planning it with other people, they will much appreciate it as well. Just easier for everyone.
