no, i think striving for happiness is exactly like drug addiction. in the sense that you'd need a greater and greater hit of serotonine in your brain in order to have a constant feeling of happiness. also it's hedonism and stagnation. cause happiness always occurs in contrast to unhappiness. and if you never have unhappiness, your happiness will slowly mutate into unhappiness cause at some point you can't give yourself bigger serotonine hits anymore. so in that sense it's like trying to get the next stronger fix to get the high feeling again.

so i think what you should strive for is progress in your life. not "quick" progress but constant progress. cause that will automatically create temporary stress and unhappiness that can contrast your happiness in a benificial way in order to keep you healthy and successfull in life.

My life is spent with full days in paradise , it took a bit to organise initially there are always a few curve balls , but I'm fortunate to be in an extremely happy circumstance where I can train , sleep for 8 hours , keep fit and active , and still party a little when guests arrive , very happy , think it would be difficult to be happier , maybe a lot more $$$ would be better , but I'm not sure about that.

Of course. It's fun to be happy, but happiness isn't a constant state.

I try to be content as much as I can, and enjoy happiness as it comes. But I recognize it is not a "forever" feeling.

I stopped trying to be happy a long time ago. It's never gonna happen.
The only thing I strive for anymore is to fulfill my purpose in life, or least give it all I have.
Luckily I know what that is, but chasing happiness will make you more miserable

Happiness is a mindset anyway. Anyone can be happy at any time if they allow themselves to be

Yes, but in order to do so, I need to be solo. In the U. S., involving other people or an s/o is a death sentence that will INSTANTLY kill your hopes and dreams forever. It's not a collectivistic culture, and the values it takes to be 1 are thoroughly looked down on here. You have to be by yourself to achieve your hopes and dreams to be happy here. 1971 is gone forever. It's never coming back.

I deal with happiness on a day-to-day basis.

I have that theory that ''we'' have a built-in ''happy-tank''.

And when we regularly fill it up, then the unhappy aspects of life can't tear us down.

Happiness is a choice. It took me 40 years ago to understand that. You can't always control what life throws at you. Be you can choose how you react to it.

100% true. Happiness is a choice
Nowadays I only do things that either make me money or make me happy. I cut everything else out
