I don't like this but I try to understand the underlying reason, if they are upset and that's why they responded like this, it's okay.

But they do this all the time and there's no reason, I hate it and I won't text them excitedly again.

oh i've been there. my friend was never happy for me. so i decided to stop telling them about exciting things. and when they tell me something exciting, i reply just as dryly as they replied to me previously.
