Do people from your hometown engage you on the internet?

I'm not really enthralled in anyone's life from good old small suburban suburb of Youngstown, Ohio... But I get a lot of interactions from people from high school and middle school. Negative and positive interactions, from hello to go Duck yourself. I'm wondering if this is normal?

but I've lived in three different cities long enough to socially engage anywhere on the streets from time to time...

I still run onto some people I have met since I was age 3, lol...

People from my school add me on Instagram and stuff there's been a few times where a girl or a guy from school will like it messed me saying hey I know you from school and I have no clue who they are. Lol

I'm not available on social media, so only people with whom I shared my private contact information reach out to me occasionally.

I don't really use social media. I use fb messenger to send memes and videos to friends. I don't talk to people I'm not friends with so I don't waste energy on stuff like keeping up with people I knew 15 years ago.

From my hometown.. Haven't spoken anyone in at least 10 years. The nearby city ~5 years. That said, I was living abroad for quite a while, so that makes things difficult.
