I once wanted none, but after I stopped poisoning my mind with hormonal birth control, I wanted two.
After I met my husband and I got pregnant and especially after I passed through the gauntlet of anxiety of giving birth (it's hard, but it strangely makes the experience more meaningful) I now want 6 like my mom. (I will be halfway there in a few weeks.)

  @EmmaMary two was easier by far. I insisted on proning and she mostly plopped out instead of sitting on my back for hours.
  
  Going to try that again and hopefully with a "used" cervix it will open more easily.

  I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I'm the youngest of three girls, and up until I gave birth to our daughter sixteen months ago, we all had boys.
  
  So only my eldest sister had the same problems as you, in fathoming out how to care for a little one with a "spout"!
  
  So my elder sister and I were able to learn from her, and of course her "mistakes". lol
