I don't have a daughter but when I was growing up mum bought me my first bras as a birthday present because she thought I was starting to need one. It took me a while to accept that I did need to wear one though.
My sister told me that her daughter (my niece) asked for her a bra when her friends started wearing them. Sis took her shopping and she just about filled a AA cup.
I went and talked with my mom when I thought it was time for a bra. She agreed and went with me to buy my first one.
My mom kept my sister at home for the day and they went shopping at Victoria Secret.
How old is she? Wait till she asks you for a first thong

That has never been an issue, not with her mom, not with me. We just see it as shopping for an essential item.
They probably discussed it between them, but I was there in the shop when she bought her first and subsequent bras. It's such a natural thing that I don't understand the taboo involved, as if it were a girls only thing. Dads are involved in the upbringing of our daughters.
The same goes for sanitary pads. When my daughter needs them, she'll tell me which ones to buy. But she also sends me a picture of the box, so I don't get confused. She'll even tell me the price of the box, or which boxes are more value for money :)
I agree and it sounds like you have a good relationship with your daughter. My husband has also been with us on some occasions when we've been buying bras. Also he has no problem buying tampons etc for me on occasions. Our daughter hasn't started her periods yet, although I have already bought some pads ready for when she does and I will let my husband know when she starts.
That was for her mom to handle.
