Hi everyone. Just had this question about trying to meet new people. Not like this is relative to the story or not but my best friend just asked me to be a bridal party attendant. I just felt like since that I need to find new ways to get new friends. My boyfriend and I have been getting pretty serious too. And if that’s the case I have my best friend, my sister and then another friend but still need to get another bridesmaid and no he doesn’t have any sisters. He has a sister in law but we aren’t really that close and I feel like she would probably make it all about her that day if she was part of the bridal party. I’m already on Bumble BFF and have had some good conversations so far. I like two girls so far that I’ve talked to but not too sure if anything will come from it. I was thinking about reaching out to these old friendships I had but not too sure what I’d say. I’d love to see that turn to something honestly but again not too sure how to go about that and if someone recommends finding other ways I’m all ears. Also I do softball league in the summer time but a lot of the ladies have other lifes after we play. Just wondering what is a good strategy to have to create these friends and what to say to these other older friends that I haven’t seen in awhile.

Join large organizations with a common purpose where you will see people over and over again and have time to form friendships. That's why being in school is so great for this. The out of school example I use is Toastmasters. You go every week with the common purpose of improving your public speaking skills, which is a good thing for almost anyone. You're with the same group of people a lot, and some of them will become your friends. The same thing with a big charity. If you're packing boxes for Haiti for 3 weeks, you'll get to know the people you're doing it with.
Join a club or something. Book club, cooking club, etc. Kind of the way it worked when I started at school. I met a lot of people I am friends with now through campus activities.
