I hated my name while growing up. Teachers, friends and the like would always mispronounce it. It’s a name people haven’t seen before. I wanted to change my name to something normal like Ella.
But as I've become an adult, I've come to love my name. It’s unique, no one else has my name, and I don’t care if most people mispronounce it - the people who are important to me know how to pronounce it.

there were times I hated my name because it's not the name from the culture I grew up in... so adults and kids didn't know how to pronounce it and very often misread it and expected me to know they were talking to me :D

but... at the beginning of primary school, I started to love my unique name and accepted all the nicknames that followed...

and I still love it :D

If my naturalization goes through I have the option to change it: I won’t.

It's a very common name in the country I was born in, and very rare in the country I live in now. Most people don't know exactly how to pronounce it. The ones who get it right are very dear to me :)

Love it! Sadly I share it with quite some people, but luckily for a long time in school and job a few job settings I was the only one. Or the older one. I consider myself the original always 😆
