How could it take so long to find Gene Hackman dead?

This is such a famous person.. didn't he have like a maid come by more often, or his own children calling him regularly, or a friend, etc? It's shocking that we're talking about like 9 days until he's found dead...

I believe his wife was about the same age as Gene Hackman’s children.
It’s possible Gene Hackman’s children might of thought she was taking care of him physically. He wasn’t exactly alone.

My dad isn’t in his 90s but just pretending he was. If he was living alone I would probably be checking up on him or calling him everyday.
If my father aged in his 90s was living with a woman aged in her 60s (which isn’t that old) I would still call him every now and then but probably not too often since he isn’t living alone.

Did you know gene hackmans wife was found dead at the same house and say day as Gene. They were also living together and married a long time before both of their deaths
