Do any of you go by your middle name because your first name sucks?

My first name is Francis, a family name that was forced on me! My middle name is, Scott. No, I'm not related to Mr. Key. Ever since I was allowed, by my teacher's, to have them call me what I'd like to be called, I've gone by Scott. People that have known me my whole life are actually shocked to find out that isn't my actual first name. Do any of you go by a name other than your first name?

Include a shortened first name also. My brother's first name is, Anthony but he has always gone by, Tony. I work with a man that doesn't even acknowledge you, if you call him anything besides, Richard. I mess with him and call him Dick.

I went to school with a boy his name was Albert and he hated it! Everyone called him buddy

Albert is kind of an ugly name lol It's funny, I have an uncle Bud and never knew until a few years ago that his first name is actually Henry. I have a cousin that I always knew as Rick but that's actually his middle name, his first name is Eric. It seems more common than you would think.

Thankfully, people have been calling me by nickname for as long as I can remember. That I can tolerate; my complete first name I have never liked. I did use my middle name for business purposes many years ago, but that is something I keep private these days.

I don't go by my legal first name or middle name because I'm trans. I either go by the name I chose or a gender neutral nickname. Maybe one day I'll change my legal name to be the one I go by.
