I have a 15 year old and I adopted his 9 year old half-brother. There definitely won't be any more.

I have a lot of help from my mom, dad, brother and sister-in-law and I help them with my 5 year old nephew. I had 3 years with me and my son on our own and those were the 3 hardest years of my life for sure.

@TonyMetal___86 Even if my then-husband were still alive, I imagine I'd still be doing it on my own anyway. He had a drug problem well before I ever met him that he hid very well from literally everyone, so I left before our son got old enough to catch on to all of it, then I adopted the son he had with another drug addict he met after we left.

I don't understand when someone has a nice loving wife, a kid and a family, what else he needs more? If he threw the drugs away and had a normal life, wouldn't it be better gor everyone? 🤦🏻‍♂️

@TonyMetal___86 I don't have as many answers as you'd expect. He decided a long time before I ever met him that drugs were the solution to his "demons" and by the time it got bad enough that he couldn't hide it anymore, he was the past the point of being helped. He would quit often, but it usually only lasted a few months. Still to this day, his mom and I are the only ones who know and we decided to keep it to ourselves and let everyone else keep their perfect image of him.
