My wife and I have three cats and a bunny named Pepper.
POTUS (Poatie) is a 7 year old, marmalade orange, super fluffy, part Maine coon. He was about 3 months old when we got him from a foster parent.
Sterling and Pearl are 1 year old brother and sister. They were maybe 5 weeks old when a mama cat and three kittens started hanging our porch on June 26, 2025. They would come and go and she would sometimes leave one behind.
We brought Sterling in the house on July 4 and we brought Pearl in on August 21. The mama cat and third kitten quit coming around.
They are both super cute and sweet.
A variety. Had all my life. Always had various small farms. Our oldest shepherd dogs were older than me. Except my sickminded dad only got them to breed them and make money, and he did. He had a small farm (still owns the property out of country) because it is profitable. Everything to him is about profit and benefit. I hate how half of me adopted his views and i preferred the types of animals that are "useful". So my best friends were not the dogs that slept with us but the goats who give milk. Cats are better than parrots becauae they catch mice ruining our food. Today might be the first day i totally let go of this bullshit and see them all with equal affection.
I prefer dogs, but a stray cat ended up moving in with us while it was pregnant, so it chose us and our home. We looked after it and raised its kittens, then gave them away to good homes and we kept the stray cat. It's not legally and officially ours. Of course, we kept it. We all love animals and it seemed a bit wrong to give her up too, for a dog, when she had her heart so set on living here, with us. Being our cat. So my parents and I have a cat.
I had.. but since my last one died I decided not to have one more.
I work too long. An animal is not a toy that is there when I return from work and that I can leave until I come back.
And two animals (dogs, cats...) are not a solution!
So I decided when I retire and not before. Then I can give my pet what it deserves.
Yes, I miss my last one so much.
Retire? You're 18 🤣
I'm sorry for the loss of your pet. I lost my senior cat and dog in 2023. I swear off having a pet again because it hurt so bad. But recently I adopted a cat who was a stray that had rotten teeth, fiv+, part of his ear bit off from another animal. Of course when I got him all his teeth were extracted but he is now happy and healthy with me. So if you can give them a loving home their Years on this earth it's a lovely thing.
Right choice if you work long hours. I sometimes do too but I have an automatic cat feeder, nanny cam, plenty of water , toys , two cat litters and activities for him while I'm away working to give him a good life
Mine - his name was Odin - had bladder cancer.
The site took the wrong age. I am older but still have much years until I can retire.

Not currently, but I've had cats in the past.
Not at the moment. But I really want a pet jaguar. My neighbors have 4 really annoying dogs. And deer are eating my hostas. Not sure an invisible fence system would contain a 400lb adult male jaguar though. The black ones are rare but cool looking.

@Smileygirl2000 Presently, no. Lost my last fur baby to Cancer in 2022. My Feline companion was 18 years old, and I got him as a rescue kitten from my vet.

Yes I do. I have an invisible donkey named Dorito.
My wife and I used to keep as many as 8 dogs but aren't allowed to anymore which sucks. We are considering moving states to somewhere the ruling won't apply.
None of those anymore. I've got the neighborhood squirrels.
Me? 2 dogs. Me and those living with me? 4 dogs and a pig
No , I had cats but they are both dead. My wife says no more pets because it is too sad
Yes I’ve had many pets in my life, including racing greyhound dogs at the dog track and when they retire I take them home
I got something I call community cats. These are farel cats.
Absolutely. Isn't that the reason we were put on earth?
