It's not too formal but it is above the average and to be honest it is quite sexy :) I dress abnormally formal and my boyfriend thinks it's sexy as well. I guess some of us are just attracted to class. I say go for it ;) There's nothing like the feeling you get when you know you look good :)

Not at all. I knew a guy in university who used to show up in a suit and tie everyday, like it was an executive office or something. You're dressing well, but it's still casual enough for school.

No man thats a good style. I mean tons of people just roll out of bed with a hoodie on, but its ok to dress up too.

My business school was known for us dressing up for class, compared to many others that didn't. They thought we were douches, which was partially true lol.

I used to dress like that often in college. The problem is if it's not executed well you just look like the weird guy in the button up. especially if you don't have the frame for the look.

Yea that's true. I do catch the girls leering at me often when i'm dressed like this thougj. They also seem to be more friendly and all as well, so i think it's a good sign.

Maybe. Try polos and knit sweaters.
They usually look less causal and less douche. Sweater and shorts look good, no matter what people tell you.
