I think your terms are a bit confusing. I don't know what you meant by "bra-strap length". If you were referring to the arm straps, then that would be equivalent to "shoulder length". However, if you were referring to the band that goes across your back, then that would be equivalent to "mid-back length" - maybe a bit shorter. Also, "arm-pit length" would be the same thing as "bra-strap length" or "mid-back length" because the band goes under your arm-pits.
Anyway, to answer your question, I'll just use my terminology. I consider "mid-back length" to be the standard length for a girl's hair, and I also think it looks best on *most* girls. "Waist length" on the other hand is ideal, but only if properly taken care of, and most girls with that length of hair *don't* take proper care of it. In other words, "waist length" is the ideal hair, but only on the ideal girl. To set a range, I find it unattractive when women have hair either shorter than "shoulder length" or longer than "waist length".
