Why do people think black people/rappers like Timberland shoes?

So I love Timberland boots. I find it relaxing every two weeks to brush them clean with some suede cleaner and sealent. How the outside has a nice soft fuzz feel yet look really bad ass. So I baught a really nice pair of Timberland black boots a Nike exclusive. I wore them to work and all my black co-workers where giving me shit about trying to act "tough/ wannabe gangster". When did Timberlands become part of black culture?

I don't see how they are comfortable, but oh well.
I'm sure they wear their pants down around their ankles.
I give up trying to figure out the younger generation, I've come to the conclusion that the millennials are just confused, and have guidance.

Timberlands used to be inexpensive work boots. All of a sudden, they became a fashion statement and a brand name. Most guys who work construction don't wear timberlands, you would just be throwing away your money for no reason.
