What do you think about coffee-scented perfume?

I think the best and most effective way to achieve a coffee scent is to be exposed to actual coffee. I think that an artificial coffee scent could smell pretty weird.. Given the chemicals that'd be in it. I like the scent of coffee.. But it's also pretty strong.. So gotta keep that in mind.. Also.. People who'd buy the perfume probably already drink coffee. So it's like a double dosage of a coffee scent lol.
What do you think?
I think as far as the authenticity of the scent goes, you can't really differentiate between real coffee and its "artificial" scent (at least, I can't). The scent itself is made from processed components of coffee, rather than completely unrelated chemicals, so it's not that artificial. Also, a lot of those beachy, sandalwood, woodsy fragrances actually have coffee bean extracts in them--in the case of pure coffee-scented perfume, I imagine it would just have a lot more.
But, yeah, you're right, the smell IS pretty strong. I'd have to be sure to brush my teeth and wash my hands after handling coffee or else I'll smell like a coffee shop, lol.
Ah really? Maybe! I've never smelled actual coffee perfume.. But hmm that's true 🤔 It probably wouldn't be drastically different! I suppose it's a good, calming smell overall for people who simply enjoy the scent! But yeah haha a little bit can go a long long way! Are you thinking on buying some of this perfume?
Haha, yup, less is definitely more in this case.
I was thinking about it, but what I've found in stores is all in men's fragrance. So, it has a bit of a colgone-y smell alongside the coffee notes.
Haha for sure! Better safe than sorry haha.
Ooh gotcha! That would make sense actually.. As the chemicals in Cologne tend to be more... Pungent I guess? Stronger in general.. A more harsh smell.. Whereas scents specified towards females tend to have lighter pitches and tend to leave you with more of a tickled sensation.
Yeah, and I've never been a fan of cologne for that reason. The scent just kinda invades your mind, it feels like. Especially when people spray half the bottle on themselves. :/ The amount of scent you have on you should be a hint, not a distant signal of your presence.
Lmao!! That's a perfect example!! Lmfaoo. I agree entirely... guys.. y'all don't need to have a layer of cologne over your skin lmao. Tbh I'd prefer a guy to smell floraly or even fruity... or just like nothing at all... I really am NOT a fan of "male" scents... I'd prefer something natural.. strong male scents are just a huge turn off for me haha.
Same! I actually wish men's perfume would cease to exist and everyone would use what's considered women's perfume now. I don't get why there has to be 'feminine' and 'masculine' scents in the first place. Women's perfume smells so much better. All things held constant, I'll take a guy who smells like vanilla over one who smells of Old Spice.
Yes! Exactly! They honestly just gross me out so much! I'm all for natural scents for all! 😂 (That sounds weird when said aloud lol).. But yes! Vanilla is actually a really enticing scent! I actually wear vanilla often for my own personal scent 🤗 I think it's like a subtly intimate scent.. Like gently playful.. Calm.. Kinda like me haha. But yeah.. Blehhh... Hate those chemical man scents 😫
Put this way, just because you like smell of pizza, would you wear a pizza scented perfume?
Nah bruv.
Well, that's not entirely a fair comparison. Coffee is a beverage with a bittersweet scent/flavour, whereas pizza is a food with a savoury flavour. Pizza appeals to one's appetite, whereas coffee primarily stimulates one's olfactory senses, and has actually been shown to decrease appetite.
I like the smell of coffee, but it would be strange for a perfume.
Lots of colognes have coffee notes. There is one in particular for men that has coffee as the main note, Mugler's Pure Coffee. I haven't smelled it myself, and it has mixed reviews, but apparently, there are those who dig it.

Coffee smells nice, but I as a perfume I don't really 'get' it unless you were trying to screw with a drowsy coworker by making them think you had some.
After reading this response, I think I'm more likely than ever to try such a perfume. XD
Woe to my colleagues on Monday mornings!

I voted yes to the perfume. I feel I should add the caveat that I give with all perfume. DON'T TRY TO TAKE A BATH IN IT! You just need a single spray. Maybe two. Spray it on one wrist, rub your wrists together, then pat each wrist to the opposite side of your neck. If it's an especially light fragrance, do it once more. That should be plenty. More than that and you'll have people either sneezing or pinching their noses. Or both.
I don't really think that people would recognize it as a perfume to be honest. But, a nice quality coffee does have a pretty decent smell. I still think it would find it weird if someone straight up told me they were wearing coffee-scented perfume.
Uhh I don't think I want my girl to smell like a pumpkin spice latte
Haha, it doesn't have to be pumpkin spice... can be french vanilla, mocha latte, caramel macchiato, etc. :P
I don't know, I would still not want my girl to smell like coffee. How would you like it if there was a "queso" fragrance for men?
Eh, I don't think that's a fair comparison, considering one is a food with a savory flavour, while the other is a beverage with a bittersweet flavour.
Also, most of the coffee-scented perfumes are actually tailored towards men.
Fair enough. I don't think I would wear a coffee cologne though. Just seems odd, when I think of perfume or cologne, I think of scents that give off a "clean" smell.
Fair enough!
In a cup is amazing, in a perfume I don't think so.
silly, same as cleaning products smelling of vanilla, or fruits
I get confused if I should lick them or clean with them LOL
regarding coffefe perfume:
where are you hiding that pot of freshly brewed coffee? under your skirt?
LOL
Honestly, just this idea makes me think someone's just trying to hide some weed lol.
Oh god no. Coffee makes me nauseous and gives me a major head ache hahaha so no thanks! XD
I wouldn't wear it since I don't like the smell of coffee
Sometimes I miss the smell of coffee but I get saturated by scented air pretty fast so I'd choose fresh air over all else any day
I like the smell of coffee, but it would be strange for a perfume.
i love the smell of coffee but as a perfume, i don't know about that.
Coffee never tastes as good as it smells, so I tend to view the scent of coffee as a lie.
I like the smell of coffee, but it would be strange for a perfume.
I love the smell of coffee. And, if I smelled it on someone, I'd still enjoy it. But, it's no turn on.
Do you want a light cream or a heavy cream on your coffee?
Neither. I prefer my coffee untouched.
Once I hit post I felt a little bad
As far as G@G humour goes, it was actually kind of clever.
I like the smell of coffee, but not as a perfume that you wear
No, just pour coffee on yourself and clothes if you wanna smell like coffee 😂
I'd rather not ruin my clothes and burn my skin.
It's called a joke but whatever... couldn't care what you do.
I was likewise being sardonic, love. Your particular brand of humour called for a dry and flat response.
I like the smell of coffee, but it would be strange for a perfume.
Don't drink it, it gives you bad breath.
I wasn't planning on downing a perfume bottle, lol. Bad breath would be the least of my problems if I did that.
Yeah true, you wouldn't have any perfume left if you drank the whole thing.
No particularly alluring
I like coffee, but that’s weird as hell.
I like the smell, but I wouldn't wear it.
