Which brand has the better foundation?
Or makeup in general, Kat Von D or Marc Jacobs?
I am aware of other makeup brands out there that are crulety free such as, Too Faced, Makeup Geek, etc.
I just would like to try one of these brands.

A lot of it depends on your skin type and what you are looking for in a foundation. I like the Kat Von D brand but the lock-it foundation is very matte, full coverage, and looks horrible on my dry skin. I need light-medium coverage and a more hydrating formula.
I haven't tried anything form Marc Jacobs to know how well those foundations perform but like I said, it really just depends on your skin and individual needs. I would recommend going to a Sephora, Ulta, etc. and testing them out first so you can decide for yourself which one is the best option for you. :)
Thank you!
I have combination skin so, my T-zone, chin, and arounf my nose a little, tend to get oily whereas the rest of my face is normal.
In that case, the lock-it foundation might work well for you! I have friends who have oily/combo skin and love it.
Awesome thank you so much! I always do enojoy hearing what works best for people because everyone is so different and some (like me) have sensitive skin so I like knowing it's good for that too.
No problem, I hope it works out for you! :)
Go to Sephora and have them applying both foundations for you to see how which one do you prefer on your skin. They are both super full coverage and you need the smallest amount for your entire face. My tip is for you to exfoliate and wear a super hydrating primer or moisturizer before hand
theyre both good really so its kinda hard to decide upon, though maybe i'd lean toward Kat a little more lol
No make up brand or cosmetic is every truly cruelty free, it's all pretty much a marketing ploy
Excuse me, I mean animal* cruelty free.
Kat Von D is a vegan brand that does not test on animals and I'm not 100% if Marc Jacobs is vegan but they don't test on animals either.
Do you mean regulations that require animal testing or what do you mean?
I know in China it is a law to test on animals so, anywhere that sells there does have to test even if they are labeled "cruelty free". These two brands do not sell to China.
@asker I am not sure about American legislation but in Europe there are allergens and ingredients that are limited or banned from being used in cosmetics.
Now the reason they have limited/banned these ingredients is because they found through animal testing that they could cause damage, so while the product itself may not be tested on animals, it still has to go by the results of the animal testing in the regulations, so it can't be on the market without animal testing.
That's for harsh or manmade chemicals though. If the product is made of all natrual or organic ingrieients then there is no reason for testing.

I feel like it wouldn't be fair of me to choose. Both brands have some amazing products!! Too faced is also amazing, as you said, and so is Makeup Geek. I also like Tarte very much but is it Cruelty Free? What about Laura Mercier?
Marc jacobs
