Why are bra's made to be so suffocating?

Whenever I go out, I wear a wired bra, but by the end of the day, I'm suffocating a little. I noticed that after taking my bra off I could suddenly breath. I don't think there is anything wrong with the fit of my bra because it feels comfortable putting on at first, but after a long while, it becomes uncomfortable. Now, I just go braless and use something else to cover up the front of my breasts without having to show my nipples. Why are bra's made to make me suffocate and uncomfortable. I've also tried multiple other bra sizes to test if it really is my bra that makes me suffocate.

I want everyone to know that I try on multiple bra sizes to know if it was the fit of the bra that is causing my discomfort, but it was not. I am a 34A and have tried from 34B's to 36A's. They were either too big or too small, but mostly too big. 34A's are where I'm genuinely the MOST comfortable at, but after a while it gets uncomfortable.

They are not made to be uncomfortable - if they’re uncomfortable you’re either wearing the wrong size (most women who haven’t gone to a fitting with a professional are) or you’re wearing a style of bra that just doesn’t work for your body (alternatively a poorly made/cheap bra).
I’ll admit, my breasts are somewhat small so I’m already ”blessed” in terms of comfort, but my bra has never felt like I’m being suffocated or made me uncomfortable. I can barely feel it throughout the day and I’ve fallen asleep with it a few times just because I forgot to take it off.
So besides making sure that you have the correct size/style/quality of bra, also make sure it’s not too tight (the hook should always be fastened on the first clasp) and that the straps are properly adjusted.
You could also go for some wireless ”bikini” style bras or bralettes, as they are softer than the ones with wires. You really shouldn’t feel suffocated or be in discomfort, something is wrong if you are.

I wouldn't say it's super uncomfortable. I have small breasts and are an A cup. Any other bra sizes are too big. It's comfortable putting on (as I have said many times before, but it gets uncomfortable after awhile).

It should feel comfortable throughout the day though, not just when you put them on. Maybe you need a bigger band size or you straps aren’t well adjusted. Or you should get one without wires. Go to a good bra shop and get one professionally fitted + talk to them about your issues.

Depending on your breast size you can go without wire. So if you are on the small side you are good to go with the wireless. Also the reason probably they are so uncomfortable by the end of the day is that after a while being in a unnatural state things get uncomfortable.

Have you tried none wired bras. Women have different shape breast while bras don't very much difference and wired bras have no give. My wife no matter what size bra she uses finds the same problem with wired bras but is comfortable with the non wired ones.

Your chest is small enough that you could wear a sports bra and be perfectly fine. Anything smaller than a C cup doesn't really need very much support.. I mean all you're really looking to do is keep your nipples from sticking out through your shirt.

You're wearing the bra that is not your type. It is not the right size and type for you. And also try having good posture too.

You could get your size measured by a professional. The issue is that after a certain cup size they just up their band size until the cup of the bra fairly covers the chest. As a result the band could be the wrong size, all the weight could be on the straps and the underwire could be pushing in and give that suffocating feeling.

The majority of women are wearing the wrong bra size. You should get fitted about every 6 months. Most stores offer fittings for free. Also experiment with different shapes, styles, and brands. Bra fitters are usually the best people to ask about what would be best for you.

Part of the reason that many women have trouble finding the right size is that bras are supposed to fit in a really specific way. That’s why you should still have a fitter look at it. What might seem big to most people could actually be a perfect fit. If the cup size is too big try a sister size- go up a band size but down a cup size. For example 32B to 34A

Seriously now: My ex had the same problem, she had smallish breasts and wired bras dug into her ribs, she switched to those no-wire bra thingys and was really happy about them, no more bruises or bra marks on her ribs.

Mrs says she recommends a light weight leave bra too. Or a camisole to hide nipples if bra top proves uncomfortable. You don't need wired support.

You wear an A cup (the best size, btw), you can easily go without a bra without fear of 'sagging'. Unless you're working out I see no real need to wear one other than 'dur society say so'.

Get a comfortable bra ! Bra is not oppressing you in any way. Female body is not designed to support breasts so you need to have a support. Try sports bra for a while.

There is a new style of Bra out that just has a sticky inner surface with no strapps to hold onto you. I think it's a new wonder bra or something but it's meant to look sexy kinda like your not wearing one but you are.

If you are hunched over you need to buy a different kind of bra, one that actually fits you comfortably and doesn't suffocate you.

If you're an a cup, you don't necessarily need a full fledged bra, you can get away with wearing a thinner sports type bra without wires or cups, or with cups but no wires. Also be aware of the waistline size, do you need a 32 or a 38? The best idea is to go to a specialist and they will give you the results you need for comfort.
