Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I'll answer the question "Why [are] men [unwilling to date] women with short hair?".

Long is the natural state of hair. That's quite obvious considering that before we had convenient means of cutting it, everyone had long hair (men and women) because they didn't have a choice. As new tools for cutting hair were invented, men began cutting theirs for practical purposes, since they were the ones who were responsible for labor and military, while women had no need to cut theirs. That's how societal expectation for men to have short hair and women long hair was born.

Without societal expectations factored in, long hair is simply more aesthetically appealing on both men and women. The only reason most women prefer men with short hair is because the societal expectation for men to have short hair has been around so long and is so deeply ingrained that it actually overrides women's natural attraction to long hair. With men, however, there is no such societal expectation present to override their natural proclivities, so they simply embrace their natural proclivities and thus most are attracted to long hair. Most women would be attracted to men with long hair in the same way if it weren't for the societal expectation.

TL;DR: Long hair is more aesthetic on both men and women. The only reason long hair is considered attractive on women, but not men is due to unnatural societal conditioning.

It just doesn't look good on most girls unless you do like a shortbob hair and that only usually looks good on girls with black hair. Look up Ada Wong she is basically hot as fuck and or Sigourney Weaver
back when she was younger. Catherine Bell is total babe with short hair.
