Should I tuck in my dress shirt or not for a first coffee “date”?

My friend keeps telling me I need to tick in my shirt no matter what but ehen I asked a girl, she told me it’s optional. So who’s advice should I take? I need to decide before next Wednesday.

Unless it's with a suit or tie definitely untucked even if it's a button down. (I'd avoid these unless you just got out of work) Looks more natural and relaxed

It's a recent fashion trend, basically you tuck in only a part of the shirt.
Here's how you would do it (explained as best as I could):
Pick a part of the shirt, I'd recommend a side or the middle
Deeply tuck in that part so it won't budge throughout the day
Pull out a bit of the tucked part so the fabric can drap over itself a bit to make the tuck seem more natural and effortless

Just depends if it's your style or not, otherwise you're good leaving your shirt untucked, by the way the half tuck shirt can be applied to other shirts too not just dress shirts
