What to wear on a first date for coffee?

Guys, what would you like to see a woman wear (or not wear) if you are taking her on a first date for coffee in the morning? He is a family friend and I've heard he is the gentlemanly family man type. I want to make a good impression. Thank you!

Since it's the first date, I think I personally would want her to wear like a one piece skirt or whatever they're called. And I would wear a shirt and a jeans and some very good shoe. But from the second date, I am mostly fine with anything.

When she dresses up all fine and nice for the first date, it makes me feel that she's really looking forward to spend some time with me and is interested in me.

It's hard to say... it depends on him. Like I personally, don't care honestly lol. Like, if she goes through the effort to wear something nice, I'll appreciate the effort, but, it also doesn't matter to me. Whatever she's comfortable in is fine with me. And especially if it's just a morning coffee date. I'd just wear something nice, but casual and comfortable as well.

Not a guy, but I'd wear jeans and a nice top maybe, so casual enough for coffee but still nice.
Really though, I think it's very important that you're comfortable in what you're wearing. Nothing worse than spending the whole date tugging at your clothes trying to make it more comfortable or not enjoying yourself because you're feeling so awkward or worrying.

Also, coffee isn't a date in my opinion. Coffee is what you do for a quick meeting in order to decide if you want to make a date with someone. It could lead to a date, if you both like each other and get on well. So, dress as though you're meeting a friend for coffee, cuz that's essentially what you're doing.

Jeans and a sweater or t shirt. Nothing too showy or over the top. Let him see you as you would look on any given day then he will know whst to expect.

And a bit of a suggestion - don't plaster yourself in make up; this is coffee not a night out on the town. (and please don't put foundation on. It freaks men out, reminds us of the film "House Of wax").

Nothing too dressy, but dont wear track pants and a hoodie. Wear nice jeans and a sweater... or if it is warm weather, a nice blouse. It is a casual setting after all.
