Women's Water Polo, the swimsuits?

Been looking at a few videos of the sport on youtube. The swimsuits they wear look painful. Any of the ladies here play the sport? What do you think? Or any general comments?

In my perspective, i don't see anything painful.

These outfits get designed with enough thought by professionals. And these sort of swimsuits are one of the best they can wear. It's a swimsuit and they are in water anything. They need light cloths so they can move freely to play. The bareness of their legs with no edge helps them to move their legs fast and freely in order to swim and play the game.

When playing water polo, swimsuits are generally very tight. It is a violent game and if they were loose, the opposition could grab hold and either pull you under or rip the costume. They can also be a bit thicker than normal costumes to minimise damage during the game.
