Why Do Many Find Russian Men Ugly And Women Pretty?

I've heard about the stereotype about Russian men are usually ugly while the women are beautiful. It sounds similar to the British are ugly stereotype. I'm wondering why people have these opinions and if there's any scientific or any other natural explanations explaining why people thinks so. I'm also curious if you're agree or not, and is it some truth in it? #Beauty

I've followed a debate on another internet forum and these pictures of stereotypical Russians were posted there.

I'm not really aware of this stereotype.
Maybe it has to do with beer bellies or the image of the "Gopnik" subculture that is kind of widespread in Russia and other poor parts of Eastern Europe.
Gopniks are our unique Slavic take on rednecks / "white trash".

Most Russian women are *not* exceptionally good looking. They age very badly. The ones you see in photos are usually models.

Statistics show that many of russian men drink alcohol, especiall the poor men. Because of this, many will also have forms of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Maybe the average and lower-class man is perceived as ugly because of this, but I assume incest connections too. In Germany, where a lot of alcohol is also consumed, there are many ugly people, probably due to disabilities and incestuous relationships too. It's said UK, Russia and Germany have the ugliest men, they are also very public, not just hidden in their room all day.

Hello I'm good person, I work in hotel here's in Bali, I've met a lot of people from Russia, like a lot. And yeah most of the girls really good looking and hot. and the men usually ugly as fuck. I don't know why? Not all the girls are pretty but mostly pretty. Not All of the dude all ugly as fuck, but mostly ugly as fuck. No offense to Russian who reading this. No matter what. Ugly or beauty you are matter. But of course I prefer the beauty.

a vast majority of men would most likely disagree. not all Russian women are gorgeous of course, but they are known to be among the most beautiful women in the world. no need to be so hateful and bitter. and they all look the same? right, I'm sure a redhead looks a lot like a blonde and i'm sure a green-eyed brunette looks a lot like a blue-eyed blonde.
