The fit is everything. Whatever style you like, either find stuff that fits perfectly or have them altered. If I buy a shirt off the rack in my size, it looks like shit. They don't make them for my build. Take in the waist and raise the hem, and it looks like I walked out of a magazine. It opens up a lot of options.

Find a good seamstress or tailor and take them some clothes to test fit. You'll see a huge improvement even with clothes you already own. That goes for tshirts, too.

colors. Its the biggest thing. Make sure your colors won't clash. Also see what colors look best with your skin and hair. For example i have black hair and im very fair. So i where a lot of dark clothes because for some reason it looks good with my skin tone and hair.

Look at a celebrity you really like the style of and try to dress similar to them. Know what colours look good on you and together and wear smart fitting clothes. Keep it simple not to much of bright colours and know what to avoid, things like extremely skinny or bleached jeans and brown shoes with black jeans

Try reading gq, or watch a good tv show and just see what you like. I try to not wear pattern, my husband stays away from bright colors, and mostly wears khakis and polos.

Put on some trousers instead of jeans, a dress shirt and swap your trainers for a pair of loafers or lace-ups.
Voilà, you are dressing better than 90% of the male populace already.

I think the most important thing is to look neat. So whatever clothes u get make sure they fit well and aren't creased, or anything.

If you can afford it get yourself a tailor-made suit. Wear
Tommy Bahama clothing and Tommy Hill figure. Get yourself all preppy and some nice shoes to go along with it

for casual wear, just a shirt with jeans or sweatpants does well. if its cold wear a sweater. shoes just weartrainers for casual wear
