The problem isn't make up it's excessive make up. You see 14 year old girls plastered in the stuff. The logic seems to be women wear makeup therefore I must wear lots to be a real woman. Which is ridiculous.
It always did for as far as I can remember. Maybe not when I'd just turned a teenager but most people weren't aware of so many techniques, products or how to use them or at least I didn't see people using them for so dramatic looks.

Well it's overused. A lot of guys are interested in someone going natural. It not even a questions about whether they look good with makeup. Often they do, but it's got a very 'conventional' feel. There's a sense of 'pretty but fake.'
As for getting shamed. Well you're simply never going to be able to remove all of that regardless of what it's aimed at. When it's aimed at appearance and makeup, well you're going to get shamed no matter what. Thinking that you can not have it happen is frankly just an absurd thing to believe. People are going to say things that you don't like, so you have to just deal with it.
I think it's because there's always an unnatural amount caked on. It's like wearing a bad, eccentric wig, but on the face. I love my makeup but I always go for soft glam. 🖤
I don't hate make up, I don't like too much make up 'cause I don't think it looks very good when you use too much of it, and when you do it makes you look as if it is a mask and you don't like your actual face... Apart from that, it radiates a big lack of confidence which isn't a the biggest turn on if you ask me, neither is it very attractive without a romantic intent... I don't like looking at a person's face and seeing a mask... A little it alright, but too much no thanks... I don't mind girls doing make up tho, they can use it however they wish, not my word in it, if I don't want to look at it I'll just ignore it or not look... Either way, if what you look for is a sort of a attraction, I believe you should just use enough make up to bold up what you believe is the most important such as eyes or lips or whatever, but remember to show yourself as well, cause if you really don't like it, get a surgery, you may regret it but it's your choice either way.
I mean, looking ugly without makeup and having terrible skin is the reality for men. It just happens that women are snowflakes who want the best of the two worlds- looking attractive without anyone acknowledging that it is not their natural appearance.
It hides the faults and makes it seem as though it's your actual face even though it's a mask. People are hypocrites though. Men want a woman to look attractive, and makeup helps achieve that, however at the same time, they want a natural woman, most of the time. This doesn't go for all heterosexual men, but a hefty percentage.
I feel like people are more judgmental about it because the media projects a certain image that people should have. When you stop caring about how society thinks you should look and start loving yourself the judgements go away.
It's a dichotomous conflict between the idea that people should love women no matter their appearance; and, the reality that the better looking a woman is, the more and better quality men she will attract.
Basically, it's the romanticism of reality vs reality.
I’m guessing because people feel played. Some women/men look completely different with/without makeup.
I’m a makeup lover, but it upsets me when women wear makeup to cover up what they feel is imperfect. I understand that we are all insecure, but I wish that everyone who wears makeup to understand that they are all beautiful without it. Makeup should be used to highlight our already existing beauty. 🌹
Because it masks people’s true beauty. I understand that it makes women feel prettier. I don’t mind a little but somenwomen but on way to much. You know the types.
I don't mind the settle makeup. I just feel deceived if she put makeup on so good, when she takes it off she is a completely different person. I dated this girl with a lot of makeup, she took it off and was more cute. However for some reason she felt so shy about her natural beauty, even hid from me. So i guess I don't like it cause girls sometimes makeup influences a girl's level confidence.
Because it's tricking men into thinking you look better than you do. To be quite honest, I am happy men don't wear makeup so i know what do their faces really look like.
That's actually a really good point. I've always heard guys say they want to see people's real faces but I've never thought about it the other way so it was always kind weird and now I realize that I actually prefer it too. (There are some other facets though like that our gender is generally judged and appreciated for physical beauty more)
Girls like to say that "makeup just accentuates their good parts"- bullshit. I've seen videos, where girls literally transformed into 20 different celebrities, managed to look EXACTLY like them, just by using make-up. It is a mask. It's as if a poor guy borrowed his rich friends clothes, car, and money, then let girls think he's rich (without ever claiming so, so lying by omission), and only revealed the facts AFTER they had sex or entered a relationship.
Just like girls want to know how successful or intelligent their guy is, or NEED him to be tall and have a full head of hair, so do guys want to know, what genetic material they're dealing with, when they enter a relationship/have a one night stand with a girl.
Because it is in everyone's genes to select their sexual partner by the quality of THEIR genes. Girls who complain about that, but have superficial/profit-oriented standards themselves, are hypocrites. Period.
It's because of the trend among many girls to wear very heavy makeup and so much fake stuff like eyebrows, lashes, nails, boobs, hair... it's just too much fakeness.
Spot on OP. Pretty accurate pic People on this forum are very anti-makeup, yet at the same time they idolize actresses and models with tons of it and call ordinary women with no makeup average/ugly
in my opinion it looks kinda bad if u use a lot. like i get using a dab of concealer if your undereyes r rlly dark or maybe a bit of eyeliner just because but if you're wearing a full face of elaborate, gaudy makeup to middle school... honestly why
Because some women wear so muh makeup and look like a completely different person, dudes feel like they've been scammed. Asian girls on youtube are the perfect example: they look like pretty dolls and then they remove their makeup... wow.
Honestly, it bugs me when I see girls (or the occasional guy) raise this complaint. The reason is because they're, if you look at it, complaining about one specific thing: That you can't please everyone.
Well, you CAN'T please everyone. That's a point that's made all the time. So just figure out which group you want to please, and ignore the other one. Done.

That’s the herd mindset. It’s scary.
But it also works. People with social influence have more power than individuals.

Maybe because woman are all starting to look the same? Three samples - different "races", all with very different face shapes after make up.
Bingo. Every chick wants to be Megan Fox. And it's revolting.
@ObscuredBeyond
Can you prove that every woman wants to look like Megan Fox?
Because it's tricking men into thinking you look better than you do. To be quite honest, I am happy men don't wear makeup so i know what do their faces really look like.

That's just from a guy's perspective.
True

Stuff like this just looks terrible to guys...
Guys like girls, not mannequins.

Of course this diesn't apply to girls using little or moderate make up, in that case that enhances their natural beauty.
