I am 5’6 is that short?

I get so pissed off when people around my height or even shorter than me say I am short. My boyfriend says I am tiny but it’s okay because he is 6’ even though I am not actually that much shorter than him (I come just under his nose) without shoes on. I know I won’t grow anymore but my cousin is 5’7 only an inch taller than me and everyone calls her sooo tall and they say I am short which is annoying. She does have a different frame from me (she’s more rectangular and bigger in build) I am VERY hourglass and tiny in build as in small boned and have a tiny waist. I can fit into kids dresses and have a baby face.

I hate being considered short because men desire tall women and I have the body of a runway model but to miss out because of my height because I am 2-3 inches shorter it just makes me feel sad and inadequate.

I don't know what it is about a person wishing they were taller. My wife went through this stage of wearing heels so she could be closer to my height. When I'm in my boots & she's shoesless - the disparity is quite noticeable. But I like it! Don't be so dispirited by your height, not that your all that tiny but some men like petiteness

I'm 5' 6" myself, and I hear that all the time as well. I don't understand why people want to knock others down for something they literally can't change like their height. People who do that honestly aren't worth your time in most cases, is what I've found.

No, the average female height worldwide is approx 5'4.
Hence, 5'6 is normal/average or slightly above average height (depending on the country).

@Soft4u I've done my fair share of research on height because I *am* actually one of the really short people :P I'm 5'0, so in the 10th percentile (shorter than 90% of women).

5' still tho for a girl 5' doesn't seem all that short, I'm 5'4" my height never concerned me.

You're feeling sad and inadequate for being a normal height for a girl that's exactly what you're doing.
I'm shorter than you and never once considered myself short, I'd never feel sad or inadequate or let my height bother me in anyway, it's something I need to live with and adjust to.

If your boyfriend is just one inch taller, then you have every reason to call him small
