Why do some girls wear jeans or leggings all summer?

I *have* to wear shorts or I'm sweating, but these girls look perfectly comfortable. Honestly jean and leggings look better than shorts on a girl, but how is it even possible?

Some people don't like the way their legs look in shorts, or for some reason or another find longer pants more comfortable. Some might be cold-blooded and feel fine in hot weather in long pants.

I like to wear shorts in the summer as well, but I am also a horseback rider and we cannot wear shorts while riding, so I wear riding breeches, which of course are long and can be very hot in the summer. It is either that or getting your legs rubbed raw by stirrup leathers, though! That is the only time I wear long pants in the summer, though.

Sun burning

Many jobs require long pants

I never see someone in pants and assume- oh insecurity.

You can be dressed half naked and hate your body. Clothing doesn’t tell anyone about a persons psychological disposition.

The right leggings will ventilate very well, so the heat shouldn't be a problem. And I like them because they protect me from sunburns. But I also like dresses too much not to wear them. Leggings for me are just for when I don't have time to put on a ridiculous amount of sunscreen.

I wouldn't be surprised if chafing was also a reason for a lot of people. I have a thigh gap, so I don't have that problem. But I know that it bothers a lot of people during the summer.

Comfortable, me personally. I just wear them a lot because U simply like wearing stuff I can move and do stuff in that will protect my legs.

Don't really want to ride horses or play paintball with some shirts on. But I'll wear a dress or shorts at a festival, theme park, or pool.

Man I don't mind at all, I'm glad leggings were invented, some of these girls be looking hot af, and sometimes you can see through it a little bit like Lord and saviour don't let me commit any sins today

The leggings and jeans are generally made from lighter materials, and the fact that they are tight actually reduces the amount of heat that gets trapped against the wearer's body.

I don't get hot when I wear jeans. In order for me to get hot, I would have to be wearing too many layers from the waist up

interesting, I actually hear that from someone else that they can't get hot from their legs only their top. I wanted to ask her what would happen if she wore leggings under her jeans lol

There are many leggings that are actually breathable which is not as hot as you looking.
And jeans is fine, I can wear that in summer with no problem.

I wear jeans and leggings in the summer and I live in south TX. It doesn’t bother me and I’m not overly hot unless I’m outside for a long period of time. I guess I’m just used to it

Yes! I knew there were people like you out there! I honestly think it looks good, I'm just impressed why you aren't overly hot. I'm curious if you wear that in the texas heat, how would you dress if you went to say new york in the winter?

Oh lol I don't know what I’d wear but I’d have to bundle up a lot because I get cold really easily!! I’d probably have to wear 2-3 pairs of paints and those super thick jackets with a sweater underneath😂

There was a time when I was too insecure to wear shorts so that’s why I wore long pants all the time. I don't know why but overheating was never really an issue for me.

Oh right some countries must call them differently they're basically shiny or pvc looking leggings

Same! Sometimes the weather isn't as hot as it was or you expected it to be when your originally went out. By wearing leggings your covering yourself as if it's too warm there bearable if it's too cold there still cool.

Some of them are really light weight and breathable. I wear long sleeve fishing shirts to work because they protect my skin and keep me cool.
