Why do girls wear jeans with their thongs showing?

I have seen many fads but I don't get this. Usually a girl does not want to be seen outside in her underwear, even if she wears something more skimpy to the beach. So why do they do this? Wouldn't that be the same if guys wear their jeans with their underwear showing?

They want people to know that they’re wearing a thong. This trend is unique to thongs and isn’t used with other underwear styles because thongs are supposed to have an extra sexy/naughty factor. Whale tails just look dumb though, like you couldn’t pull your pants all the way up.

Wearing and knowing it will show when you do certain things, like sitting or squatting down, means they don't care if it shows and you might think they enjoy showing it. I think my daughter was raised better than that but when they are not home who knows what they do?
