This is a dress that I got 4 years ago when I was 12. I’m now 16 and I haven’t grown much height wise but since then my back has broadened so the zip is not even close to zipping up. Is then anyway to alter the dress so that it does? It was a really expensive dress and I would like to keep it and wear it to a wedding in a couple months.

Unfortunately, it's much easier to make something smaller than it is to make something bigger when it comes to tailoring. There has to be fabric allowance inside the construction to be able to "let it out". If there's enough, you can go up an inch or so. I've had that done to a suit jacket that had a bit of fabric inside it so the seamstress let it out for me which added an inch.

I think if you take the zipper out or at least shorten it and put a clasp where the zipper stops at now. The dress actually looks good as it is if it will stay up on you. Just need to make it look like it is supposed to be this way.

Because the dress seems to have the same waist and chest circumference. Now your chest might have grown bigger by 3 inches. So the dress will not fit you on the chest.
