Should teenagers be allowed to wear makeup at school?

Why, why not?

When I was at school, the school policy stated that pupils weren't allowed to wear makeup at all. If anyone had a tiny bit of makeup on, they were made to wash it off right away.

I've noticed at the same school now , pupils are allowed to wear makeup. I often see kids wearing really heavy makeup and even false eyelashes

My school had a minimal makeup policy but often girls would wear a little more or none at all and teachers wouldn't care too much. Aside from some teachers who were a little stupid about e. g. send girls to reception for make up remover for lip balm. Honestly, I don't think there's any harm or distraction in it and if they feel comfortable that way then why humiliate them.

a little bit of makeup is fine. some foundation, mascara, lip gloss is okay. but not 5 coats of eyeliner, bright red lipstick, and rainbow eyeshadow. no thanks. sutble and tasteful, not trashy or whorish. then again, it is just makeup. i think schools need to mind their own business and let the parents worry about their kids.

Make up is designed for sexual attraction, whether it's the primary use or not it's what it's for.
I think society as a whole would be better off with it not being worn.
Focus shouldn't really be focused on looks and modern society this tends to be the first objective.
Real and natural need to be supported more now in a fake society.

Yea ofcourse. I dont see a problem with it, should be up to the individual. But I think many school tries to enforce things to make people have less individuality so they can "keep them from being bullied"

I’m not against it, but imagine if makeup wasn’t allowed in school even for highschool students? I imagine people would be a little bit less insecure and not feel as much pressure. Because even tho people dont rlly talk about it, there’s definitely some pressure to wear makeup when your friends do

Why do you care? Pupils are still people and they have a right to wearing their own accessories if it is not against school policy

Yes, I always used to get grief for what I wore. I used to wear lots of faketan and my teacher referred to me as an "umpalumpa".

Nah, they shouldn't wear makeup. You wouldn't want their mascara ruined after tearing up because of cigarette smoke, vodka, Chrystal meth, deepthroating and the rest of the things girls do by age 12 today!

Used to send you home when my kids were at school, said they have to look same, no one's aloud to be different as it's unfair on ones that aren't aloud or can't afford make up

Light makeup is okay. We wore uniforms and dress code was a bit strict and heavy makeup just doesn't look appropiate.

I don't really recommend makeups. I want to see them grow without it and society should get used to it. Wearing makeup is basically eating fruits with refined sugar on it. Is unnecessary.

15 here, the fact that girls wear makeup to school pressures other girls who would rather not wear makeup to wear it, but I guess it's not too bad. I'd rather be able to wear makeup than force others to look at my disgusting pale face lol
