Good for them. If they think that’s the best way to better themselves and feel more confident in their appearances and in their ability to achieve a relationship, then they should go for it. Viewing it as a last-ditch, “desperate attempt to attract women” like that magazine is doing is just insensitive and overly critical. Women get plastic surgery to better fit their idea of the ideal body and to feel better about themselves and have an easier time in the dating world all the time, and they don’t get news articles demeaning them and calling them desperate incels. There’s nothing wrong with trying to better yourself, regardless of if you’re a man or a woman. Maybe having surgically modified facial or body features is going to make some people find you unattractive and “fake,” but I personally don’t think that anyone deserves to be shamed for it unless they’re going too far and they’re addicted to it or something.
People can do whatever they want to their bodies, but in reality people are gonna judge, men, women, transgenders, for having plastic surgery. It probably won’t make them not losers and will mess up their faces when they get older.
No incel is a person who Has lost all Hope that he can have a sex/romantic life. Some are angry because of that and blame women for being shallow. But not all. Some just make peace with the idea. Some try to do something about it, like face surgery. They're just lonely men
Yeah, the term “incel” has adopted a really negative connotation as of late because of the vocal minority in the community who are actually incredibly toxic and do have a deep hatred for women and often voice their extreme disdain for them. The quieter majority of incels are actually just as described above by Optymistyk, they’re lonely men.
@CarpetDenim really? Because it seems to me it's the other way around. It's toxic women that have such a hatred of men they've taken to labeling men "incels" and even claim that they are lonely. I speak from personal experience as i've had at least one woman on this site call me an incel without knowing me for 2 seconds. She did it because she thought i'd be offended by it. When in actuality she knew nothing about me to make such a statement.
Well it isn’t. Men started referring to themselves as incels long before any woman adopted it as a common insult. Although originally invented by a woman *to describe herself*, men began commonly using this term on forum websites such as Reddit and 4Chan as an abbreviation of “involuntarily celibate,” which they used as a neutral, nonjudgmental word to describe their lack of sexual/romantic interaction with women despite their attempts made to garner female attention. There was and still is an entire incel community made up of women and men who experience problems with the opposite sex, and these online forums were more or less just a place to commiserate with other people about your misfortune in the dating world. Misery loves company, and people like to know that they aren’t the only ones going through a particular struggle, so naturally these kinds of people banded together.
Then, as I already described, a very loud, vocal minority began to arise amongst men who identified as incels, and these men were extremely toxic and misogynistic, and blamed pretty much all of their problems on the entirety of the female gender. The term “incel” didn’t have a negative connotation or gain hardly any traction in the mainstream media until 2014, when Elliot Rodger, a self-identifying incel and a member of this vocal minority, went on a massacre near the University of California and murdered six people and injured fourteen others before taking his own life in order to exact some kind of revenge on society for socially and sexually rejecting him. This is when people became aware of the community, and with a mass murderer as its representative, the media pretty much painted every single person in the community as toxic, hateful, extremely violent, and dangerous, and that’s how the negative association of being an incel came to be.
Nowadays, the term has evolved into a common insult used by both women and men, hence why some random person would call you an incel on the Internet.
An incel would probably still have an aggressively negative attitude. I could be wrong about this but most don't seem to be looking for love. They just want someone (or many someones) to fuck.
Yeah, you're wrong but i notice a lot of women are responding similarly so either you all have a fundamental misunderstanding of incels ( which is my guess) or are letting your own wounds and biases influence you. Problem is " incel is an umbrella term. I'm not saying the guys you're talking about don't exist. But they make up a small percentage of incels.
I'm responding purely based on the interactions that I've had with incels on here, which no, don't represent the majority of incels. But these interactions were so hateful and negative, it's really hard to consider another perspective.
And that's part of the problem. If i used the avg. Woman on G@G and their blatant inflammatory, baiting, and downright hurtful comments to define all women i might have a negative view of their gender. I'm just going to say this you can only push a guy into a no win situation for so long before he says "f*** it" and lashes out. If you aren't an incel you really can't understand their mindset. I can.
Any incel that I have seen in the news/media is aggressive and hateful. And these "no win" type of attitudes lead them to promoting aggression towards women. I think incels generally go after the hottest women, which they know they're not likely going to get. And then they act like they always get shut done by EVERY woman.
I feel like there is truth to that. But I'd say there might be a difference between involuntary celibacy and incel. But specifically that celibacy means the choice for waiting for romance. But incel is very commonly used negatively.
Well realistically they are probably right to think their looks are a major factor in their lack of success with dating and improving their looks would probably make a bigger difference than changing their personality would. Like even if you say they are bitter, assholes I still think a bitter asshole who is conventionally attractive would have waaay more success with women than an ugly guy who isn't bitter or an asshole.
That being said, I don't know if the technology has advanced enough where we can reliably make anyone attractive. Maybe in the future that will change but at the moment I think most people who try to change their face with surgery either end up looking worse or maybe slightly better but if you're a 3 becoming a 4 or even a 5 probably isn't going to have that big of an impact.
Ok we need to come to agreement on what an incel is. To me it's simply a guy that is celibate either not of his choice or simply because he won't capitulate who he is and way he chooses to be simply to get laid. The first one can't get laid outside of a whorehouse. The second one can, but it's just not very high on his list. Either wAy it has been said before that incels biggest problem is they won't do anything to improve themselves. Well i would certainly count going under the knife to up their chances as a major step in that dept. I certainly wouldn't do rhat for a woman, any woman.

You are an involuntary celibate if you cannot attract a mate. If you aren’t getting the ones you want, that is not an incel. You’re getting some interest just not the ones that you want.
@Anoniemus i agree. I hate to tell you some men fall under incel that have been laid many times in the past. Because they've concluded women aren't worth all the baggage that comes with them. If they wanted to pretend to ne what they're not that could get laid again. But honestly we k ow what the problem is. It's either the guy is just too pig headed to be in a relationship. All rhe wimen he's been with were not the right match for him. Or they just were not good women. There is a shortage of good women but no shortage of guys wanting to get laid. It's just simple economics. But you're completely right on your second point most guys who are incels aren't really incels at all. Just like most women don't have problems finding a decent guy. They pass them everyday. They just for whatever reason deem them " unworthy" lol

So unless they get a Lobotomy or do some major changes to their Personality Self-Esteem Their Brain doesn't change with the Pladtic Surgery!!!
It will probably work for some of them, you have to give them credit, they've got the balls to go under the knife and spend a fortune maybe they've earned that Chad title.
Looks only count for part or a person and your face changes with she anyway, so really don't see the point. And unless they throw in a personality for free, it's not gonna make much difference.
