Why do many women nowadays prefer men that look quite childish?

I have seen this in many places. The only manly/adult thing they seem to prefer is the man being taller. Other than that they don't like body or facial hair, muscles or even low body fat. They say they like guys with dad bodies. And I am not saying dad bodies are always childish, but if the guy doesn't exercise, has high body fat for man and shaves everywhere it kind of looks childish...🙄 I am not saying that you have to be perfectly fit to be likeable, i just don't understand how it became a more common preference than being in good shape.

I don't understand this. I don't like super hairy men or men with long messy hair anywhere, I do want them to take care of bodyhair, but I don't expect perfection. I am not into the ninja turtles that are competing into bodybuilding competitions either, but between a guy with a dad body and one who exercises and is eating well and has his body fat in a good range I will prefer the second always. Like what am I supposed to look at? I don't understand girls nowadays.

There was a fad a few years back where every White girl in the US either laid in tanning beds or got spray on tans, I never really cared for it. I have no preference on skin tone and would sleep with the fairest White or Asian girl to the darkest Black Girl if she has a nice enough body and face. a lot of the over-tanned white girls had an unnatural Donald Trump orange tone though and it was a turn off. My point is you don’t have to follow fads because they’ll be gone soon enough anyway.

I’ve personally found I do better with girls when I have a beard. It’s a certain type of girl who likes it. Usually the more outdoorsy hippie types which are my type anyway. I dated this sort of Emo bisexual roller derby girl who was all about it and liked it when It rubbed against her face neck and breasts. I think she just like her men masculine and her women feminine.

Actually I read somewhere that the trend is caused by birth control. Something about not having a period makes you prefer men with lower levels of testosterone. Which translates to a slimmer physical appearance and less facial hair.

This seems to coincide with what I've heard about women in the New York area, vs. other more conservative states in the U. S. That is, those women tend to prefer men that are tall and slim, while the women in the south prefer stockier guys, and that liberal women are more open to taking birth control

I like men with baby face haha and i just dont like the body hair but he can keep the body hair if he wants it. The thing with bodyhair is actually a trend from america. 20-30 years ago female body hair was so normal where i live and middle aged men i know still prefere women with body hair- I think that is because that in this time men saw many girls with body hair so that they think it is normal -( i still think it is normal). Haha some men from these times still think that a hairless female body looks like a child's body. I still remember women with body hair when I was went swimming as a kid. In the end everyone is entitled to their preferences.
However, what you descriped is not childish at all. Have you seen the male k-pop star who have so many young women as fans? These stars usually have hairless body and even use a little make up but still look hot.

Okay, this is wrong. Lol. Where you from? My boyfriend is really tall, has a beard (my brothers are older and are just starting to grow one lol), he has a dad bod (I love it! Never cared to date a guy with abs, always felt like they’re stuck up), he’s definitely childish in his own way but he’s also mature at the same time. I love that my man has a hairy ass and his hair gets all messy in the cutest way. He’s the sexiest guy walking earth for me. You seem like a picky person lol. Each to their own.

I would think the word, “dad” being coupled with “bod” would make it anything but a “childish” physique. Now I agree with you about men seeming more effeminate. However, this extends well beyond mere physical and well into their heads. Even the fit give an heir of effeminacy. Whereas commercially it might be profitable to create memes of bashing masculinity... I am unmoved by them and western society’s prospective of how men should behave as I have seen how far my gender has gone to win affection of women by woefully voluntarily presented their balls for the neutering. Which exactly what most women do not desire.

Men are every bit capable of true affection without having to wax their horn and behaving in an effeminate fashion to demonstrate this.

Perhaps it's indicative that women are starting to prefer a hard work ethic, loyalty, personality, and better intelligence, all of which fit men so commonly lack compared to men with more average bodies. The body hair part I agree is a problem but the lawnmower is becoming more and more popular, so that problem shouldn't be around much longer if we can get the word out about it that they don't have to cut themselves everywhere to get rid of body hair anymore. Also, it seems like you're the one who needs to grow up if your decision on who to date is based solely off of how they look, as you just stated. You'll likely go through the same cycle many women went through when they find out that super fit men spend too much time in the gym to have time for work, have a hard time staying loyal, and are often lazy outside of the gym. You can listen to that or experience it yourself, it's up to you.

It's not "nowadays," it always seems to have been this way. I'm 44, and I went through puberty early, and got Tom Selleck-level body hair by freshman year. It was a hindrance to dating in high school, especially because in the 90s, the slick look and people like Leonardo Dicaprio were seen as the ideal. But as I got older, things picked up for me, especially after college, when I was mostly dating older women who liked a square jaw with a 5'oclock shadow right after shaving, and chest hair.
My theory is that teenage girls are scared off by boys with actual secondary sexual characteristics because they remind them too much of their dads, and with some young women that still carries over.

Some women want men who are less attractive for 2 reasons.
1. They look better by comparison and they can't handle a man being more attractive than themselves.
2. They assume attractive men are mire likely to cheat on them.

Well I honestly love guys with dad bods. My boyfriend has a dad bod and he isn't fat either. He just doesn't have any muscle tone and has a little belly. Everyone is different but I like seeing him naked, it turns me on every time. Same for guys that has beards and chest hair I find that attractive as well. Long hair is hot in guy and even chubby guys. I never really asked myself why, but I just know what I like in a guy.

I prefer hairy men, I find it natural. In fact, I prefer just about everything natural. I llike hairy men's legs especially.

Maybe the childish look is less threatening than the big buff guy. If a puny (or out of shape guy) hits you, it will hurt way less than a buff muscle guy.

It seems the child look is popular for women too (trend being bare everywhere). So it's for both genders. It's sort of disgusting really.

I don't like facial hair neither body hair and I prefer a more "soft" face for a guy but I prefer muscular body over a dad bod. Skinny is ok, a little bit chubby is ok too but dad bod no I find it unattractive.

As for the reasons some women prefer guys that look l-childish I would say maybe it's cause they look more reassuring?

Dad bod refers to the physic commonly seen on service members in the special forces. They are physically fit but do not have the extremely thin bodies common with dehydrated gym enthusiasts. They are also smaller than power lifters. Basically what I mean is they look fit but not overly toned or muscular. I'll just say. That for me i manscape, I shave Every thing that needs it even my beard ever now and again I go full baby face.

I guess i lean more towards dad bod but once gym opens again I'd very much like to be healthier cause I'm insecure about it.

haha same reason why men nowadays like curvy bold women, they prefer strong female vocals in music, and want women that take charge. Who knows if these statistics are even accurate. if they are are, then damn times have changed. I don't know, personally I don't have the same taste as the majority.
