Mirror Selfies or Actual Good Lighting “Photography”?

For PFP reasons, tinder reasons, maybe even other reasons...

Would it be considered too try hard to go for a real headshot/any real pic.. or should I just go take a mirror pfp/selfie

Selfies are good but I will never prefer mirror selfie. I just don't like it.
