Girls, why do girls wear crop tops? why do they purposely raise their arms to expose their belly button and midriff?

Crop tops are comfortable and I really like the look! Also, I'm shorter than average so a lot of tops that maybe end at the waist for tall girls tend to go down over my butt, and I don't like that much. Crop tops make my body look a little more proportionate than those long tops, and when I pair them with high waisted pants they don't even show too much of my midriff. But a lot of girls do just like to show off their body and that's fine, too.

Some girls like them. I guess the appeal is that it shows off your stomach and waist. I personally don’t like them, so I don't know if they do that on purpose. I can imagine that some do.
