Trends change and trends are frequently inspired by previous decades so I believe it's only a matter of (some) time before low-rise jeans are back and popular even though the high waist (skinny, loose, straight styles) are still quite popular.

I dress very (I'd say early) 90s like (high waist jeans, cute top, simple accesories 'cause why complicate stuff), I'd compare it to the early fashion from Friends, from season 1 to season 3. I personally like high-waist. (I don't actually wear jeans though. It's leggings with jeans pattern/design) High waist pants looks better on me. And yes, according to a gentleman here, it helps cover my belly fat. Hahaha.

I kind of expected it but to be honest I will never understand how can they consider low rise jeans/pants to be better than high waist/rise style. It's comfy, it looks great and it's fashionable, it's all over Instagram and thousands of people are liking those pictures and I doubt it's just girls who do that.
I really hope I'll find myself a boyfriend who will be an exception in this matter and will prefer high waist just like me lol It's silly but it's a big deal for me. xD
Nahhhhh. It's silly if it's a big deal for him. Your man should appreciate you for having a feminine figure. Look at these answers from the ladies, we don't like low-rise because we have curves. Curves are SEXY. I'm not a native speaker. When I looked for pictures of "low-rise" on Google, I found women mostly with no shape in these kinds of pants. Only Beyonce' who does it well. I doubt she was struggling to keep the pants on her delicious hips. Men die when they see you in yoga pants too. LoL. I don't care as long as they don't try to touch me. ;)
I hope you're right. And I agree, low rise bottoms are not usually made for women with curves. Everytime I shop online and look at the models there (usually Abercrombie or NAKD shops), the models look fabulous in their high rise jeans. It's a pity most men don't appreciate that.

Because noone here understands WHY the high-waisted trend happened.
It happened due to estrogenic chemicals swamping our systems. That changes your bone structure. Plastic in our diet has increased immensely over the 2010s.
Look around today and you'll see tons of women with very tall, high waisted hips. Tall hips also cause hip dips and no thigh gaps. (incidentally these two traits were sought after this last decade)
Back in the 2000s and 90s, health was at its greatest. This is because it was before plastic pollution became a noticeable problem, but also after the passage of the Clean Air act (removing lead gasoline happened in the 70s). So anything between 1980-2000 probably was "optimal" health.
@koko124 Very interesting. Can I have a references, please? I know plastic has something to do with our hormones. But to the bone structure too? It's beyond my knowledge. What about men? What is an effect caused by plastic in men?
@el_Te_de_la_Rosa I don't have any specific references about plastic, but plastic is only one factor. I didn't mention the other factors because I wanted to keep it simple.
One major factor is C-sections. C-sections are primarily done on women with narrower hips, because wider hips have no trouble giving birth. In the past, such women would simply die in childbirth, and even if they didn't they would probably have fewer children after the ordeal.
But over the last century, C-sections have artificially raised the fertility of these women, giving all of us a higher incidence of these traits. One clue is that the need for C-sections have risen with time, implying that we may be increasingly dependent on them.
@el_Te_de_la_Rosa And contrary to what people think, it's NARROW hips that look more curvy. (this is why Blacks are curvier than Whites, who are curvier than Asians, even though pelvis width is the exact opposite order)
Probably they will come back at some point. that is how fashion works.
Personally I do not follow trends so much. It is more complicated getting new clothes, but it is possible to find normal/mid rise jeans regardless of the trend. It is, of course, annoying you have to spend more time looking. Last time I wanted new jeans the problem was that most had holes in the fabric and I had to go through so many to find a nice pair without. Silly trend, why can people not just cut their own holes xD
lol vintage...😂 I was a teen in the 90’s. Doesn’t seem they long ago to me 😬 In my 30’s, low rise was the way to go. I only wore my favourite brand, and the fit was always spot on because I never had to worry about a waist gap! These days I’m happy in my mid rise girlfriends or high waist straight or tapered since in between sizes and better fabrics mean I now get a better fit for my abnormally small waist.

Yes I know lol, it’s absolutely fine. To me vintage is the 1940s era for some reason... My daughter lives for vintage! Shame I didn’t keep anything from that period to give her!
Even if they come back, I'll never wear them.. I never follow fashion trends, unless they suit me
But to answer your question, unfortunately yes. Just wait till some stupid influencer like Bella Hadid starts wearing them.. It's only a matter of time

I remember the 90s and they were not kind to me... Low rise pants are for girls with little to no hand and very sleek to no hips.
I have wide hips and it was torture finding pants in the 90s. I like height waist because it will reach at my belly button or above and the jeans will go over and curve my hips..

Meh... Jeans can be incredibly feminine. I just don't care for the high-waisted ones because they lessen the woman's curves. Men's clothing isn't designed to show curves off! hahaha

Strange cause they are very skinny styled but I'll leave it be. I personally will continue wearing them, what I'm worried about that low rise may really comeback.
It's not very comfortable for me and too little fabric, I easily got cold when wearing them and I think they do no justice to women with curves (not fat, just curves). With high rise I can sit with no worries about showing my bum xD
And if I'm to be completely honest I absolutely love late 80s and early 90s look.
Hmm, well, even if low rises do make a comeback, it's not like you have to go out a buy a pair to look good. Some of the best dressed women I know barely follow trends at all.
I think they'll be back, but I'm not looking forward to them. I didn't like them the first time, and wouldn't like them the second time either. Way too many wardrobe malfunctions!

this made me hard, and yes they definitely will make a comeback. In fact, I say they're still in style now, but some people are just in denial about it. Wear what you love, don't let people try to tell you what to like.

I personally am not a big fan of low-rise, the style just doesn't work for me but if other women want it back then so be it. I always prefered to have my own style even if I look "outdated".
low rise jeans and full back panties was an awsome combo. Seeing waistband peek out was a turn on. It’s was even better when it regular cotton, what I mainly saw in school in the 90s, sometimes I saw high waisted full cut panties on display. I loved see their panties show on accident like that.
This is why mid rise wins. Not too high to make the ass look weird and not low where all you see is ass. 😂 I'm a petite lady so high rise doesn't work.
Low rise jeans already had their second come back and I noticed bell bottoms are slowly making another return for their 3rd time. So short of a complete fashion change, they will return along with hip huggers and all else make their next returns.
Low-waisted will NOT come back into fashion, because the REASON for the high-waisted trend is that xenoestrogens and other chemical exposures, both in the womb and outside of it, have changed our bone structure.
I hope so, high waist jeans look so utterly ridiculous. Like that stereotypical nerd with the suspenders in female form.
If you think your stomach isn't good enough to show off, either fix it, or don't wear crop tops. I guarantee wearing your jeans to your armpits to hide your belly fat is not making you look any better.

Many wear them only because they find them better looking and more stylish, not because of the belly fat thing.
Men can wear whatever rise they want, just like women. Skirts and dresses are nice but all the time? Plus, it's not the 50s anymore, we need more practical and comfortable clothing.
