What do you think about goth girls?

Goth girls tend to stand out more, for obvious reasons, and that they have in common with other alternatives, and I find dark stuff interesting to a degree, but there is an point that it becomes too much for my taste, most goth girls/goth-like girls that I known in real life was on the too much category as far as I'm concerned. Goth girls are technically representing dark femininity, and from my experience goth girls truly tend to be dark feminine, but that said I feel like most girls nowadays are dark feminine, even girls that don't look like that by the way they dress.

It was cool in 2007. It's also not cool past the age of 17. I'm all for expressing individuality, but there comes a point where we just need to grow up. The only way I could rationalize it is if they made money off of their lifestyle and look. If you're a successful musician, sure. If you're an interesting YouTuber making money this way, sure. But if you're just dressing in a ridiculous ways while promoting this idealogy of cutting yourself, rocking out to satantic songs, and talking about how depressed you are and how society just doesn't understand it... well that makes you fucking annoying and somebody I don't want to be around lol. That makes you unemployable, and antisocial. It's a strange culture in my opinion.

Sure, from an anecdotal standpoint you can claim that... but why are so many goth songs about satan, cutting, depression, and society people the problem instead of themselves though? The literal reason as to why Goth's wear black as because it represents death and darkness. Not my cup of tea.

You asked for my opinion, and that's it. I'm not intentionally trying to put you down, and apologize if I did, but this is how I feel about it.

The cutter one annoys me the most. Most goths actually are atheist and there is christian goth.

I thought alternative was a much lighter version, so I didn't realize I was insulting you directly. I would have worded it differently had I known. Typically not that much of an asshole. You're entitled to your individuality, just as I'm entitled to my judgement. Truthfully, I'd initially judge you if I saw you dressed in all black and all goth'd out in person. I don't agree with your ideology of life and share your values or at least those of what I know about goth culture, but that's okay because you probably don't like the way I live either. If we're both living our best lives, who cares? I don't think of you as a less than human being than me just because you're different than me and I genuinely do feel that and live by that. I think we sometimes forget that there's another real person on the other side of the screen, and I do hope that I didn't negatively impact your mood or make you feel lesser even for a quick second. On a side note, the aesthetic on some goth women is attractive to me in a sexual way. It's different and I can dig it. Just don't like the culture and typically the personality associated within that culture from what I've seen.

I'm mostly telling you we aren't the stereotype. Maybe some goths worship Satan and cut (which really hurts our community ) but really many I have talked to and see aren't into that.

I get its your opinion and cannot change it but im just letting you know facts as some one in the culture for many years.

Goth mostly is about the music and enjoyed a darker aesthetic. My apologies for being snippy as you're right, I did ask for opinions.

I wanna be honest, I‘m a guy, 18 y/o, and I really like them, maybe cuz I‘m considering myself as a goth, since I really enjoy the music, the art, and especially the style. One of my closest friends is a goth girl and she‘s a very nice and charming individual and I like spending time with her. Goth girls are human individuals and, tbh, I find them more interesting than most people, which, on the first glance, is due to the style. I know, that the outside, is not what a person is about, but going by my experience, with my friend, goth girls are very cool people to hang out with.

I think that it can be a little over done but that can be said about everything. I think anything is better than the usual clique with a queen bee, her wing girl, and asst. hangers on. From what I've seen and read girls that travel in clique like packs can act and sound more cruel than most people or organizations on earth and I think cruelty is disgusting.

To be honest I thought that was out of style now.
I used to listen to Marilyn Manson back in the 90's and I remember some people having the goth style in the early 2000's.
I guess it's a bit of a phase or a fad that some go through.
It doesn't bother me, but it's nothing new or original either.
I see it as just a fun style some like.

Up until the last few years I would have said 'NO', however, one of my female friends (now my friends with benefits) who is rather crazy and loves to be 'different' has taken on more of a Goth look

What's more, she's absolutely stunning and has an amazing body in spite of all the tats and piercings.
