Leggings besides being comfortable are also very versatile... can be worn under dresses in winter, can be paired with boots and long shirt, sweater, jacket...

I'd say yes and no... I think coverage is important... I'll say this, at the gym or at home it's fine but out and about there needs to be layering and coverage. I think leggings are really comfortable. And as long as you wear them with other things that help for coverage, they should not be seen as bad
