Having a patchy beard at 17! Completely normal?

I’ve got more facial hair then most guys my age but my beard is still patchy. Is this normal?

Yep, my beard didn't grow on my face really till i was 19 till then i only had a neck beard. Now i have a pretty good beard.

Also top tip trim don't shave, my parents always told me to shave it completely and it'll come back thicker. That's bull shit.

It's normal for two reasons; You're only 17 so your hair follicles aren't fully developed, and because not all guys can grow thick beards naturally. At a certain point mine is a bit patchy as well. Luckily I prefer clean shaven or stubble anyhow.

It depends on the guy, I had a full beard at 16, my cousin wasn’t even able to grow a goatee until he was 20. All guys bodies develop at different rates, all of which are normal.
