They are not. Your giving them a false dichotomy, your stating one of these dolls is bad and you have to point to which one. This means they are going to have to make a choice that would otherwise not be made. The original test of this was debunked within a day because the original "study" ignored the results they didn't like i. e. the white children pointing to the white doll and the black children pointing to the white doll and the fact that their was not a statistically significant difference i. e. a white child had a (if memory serves) 10% greater chance to point to the black doll which of course would make perfect sense since its the one that looks different from the white childs perspective and we (humans) always gravitate towards the familiar (as evolutionarily speaking this is what kept us alive, the known is something we know how to deal with, the unknown is not and thus has a higher risk involved so we tend to avoid it (also why we believe in "bad omens", random events occur and we believe they are a bad sign because if we ignored them it could lead to death but believing every anomaly was bad meant that on the occasion that it actualy was we would have avoided it and survived).

So yeah, this isn't a legitimate study nor are its results a sign of racism or anything else (because again, they found that black children had the same results as the white children i. e. slightly favoring their own over the other).
