How to deal with thick tangly hair?

Question

Other than permanent straightening, is there any other way to make it not so thick? Ladies do you suffer from thick tangly hair too and does it become unmanageable?

I'm not lady but I have thick tangly curly hair that becomes a mess FAST. My suggestion if you can is when it's wet detangle it, dry doesn't work well. When you're out of shower and it's drying, don't use leave in conditioner, it ways it down badly, and if you can braid or put it up while it dries, it keeps the hair from retangling. Last but not least, at night, the pillow cases you use matter, satin keeps your hair more managable even when it's in a braid or bun when you sleep.

I have the same problem. I have very long thick course hair that tangles easily. No matter how much products i use.

I was once told and i quote “For a white man, you have hair like a black man" I said “what do you mean?” and they said ” your hair is thick and nappy”. End of quote

I have very thick wavy hair myself. I constantly run my fingers through my hair to detangle it. Don't towel dry it either. Also pretreatment before showering helps.

Dry by wrapping in a tshirt. Spray it with a conditioner water mixture. Use a mousse or gel and let air dry.

A good leave in conditioner seems to work the best. Aveada makes some really good leave-in conditioners that control tangles and frizz really well without looking weighed down or greasy. But it ain’t cheap. It does smell really good though.

When I was younger I had long hair and it was thick and tangly. My mom bought me no tangle shampoo. It helped to some extent. I'm losing my hair now and I keep it short.
