I never have before. And if I did my parents wouldn't be happy once they wonder why there's underwear in the freezer (or maybe finding it in there is the better thing to say). However I one time put peppermint patties in the freezer one summer and I had allergies so it felt very nice to have a frozen peppermint chocolate.

Nah but whenever I heat food in the microwave and I'm too impatient for it to naturally cool I throw it in the freezer. I keep cool by spraying water on myself and then having a fan blow where it's wet. Extra cool

Don't put hot food in the freezer! I used to do this as a kid and it wares down your freezer faster.

lol I don't think that'll help as your still putting a hot food into a very cold place and to maintain a certain temperature the freezer would have to continuously work harder to get the temp to the right level, which will strain it.

@zollo Yeah, it's soooooo much better, sitting on the counter, cooling off!! Do you have ANY SENSE? Ever hear of Bacteria? Yeah, and there is a range of temperatures that they grow really well, at, and the counter, and slow cooling is the WORST!!
Food between 40 degrees and 135 degrees, is the WORST PLACE, for safety! Cool hot food down, below 40, as fast as you can. An average Freezer is not significantly affected, removing that amount of heat, in small containers, that it will affect the Freezer life.
If you think it is a problem, post a link, where some RELIABLE source, says it damages your freezer! I think it is BS!!
